Crosserlough’s Celebration of ‘Jubilee Year 2025’

The late Pope Francis designated 2025 as a Jubilee Year, with the theme being ‘Pilgrims of Hope’. Crosserlough Parish celebrated this special occasion on the afternoon of Saturday 9th August in the townland of Kill, close to the village of Kilnaleck. Deacon Andy Brady led parishioners and pilgrims alike on a walk through the townland of Kill to the centuries-old Kill Graveyard. The rosary was recited during the procession, with a specific emphasis on the Mysteries of Light. Fr Peter McKiernan then celebrated Mass in front of the large congregation that had gathered in the cemetery, with Deacon Andy assisting him. Parishioners from the three church areas were involved in all aspects of the Mass. Altar servers, as well as musicians, choir members, readers and Eucharistic Ministers from Kilnaleck, Crosserlough and Drumkilly joined forces for the service. The graves in the cemetery were blessed after Mass and refreshments were provided for everyone in the parking area adjacent to the graveyard. Crosserlough Parish Pastoral Council wishes to acknowledge and sincerely thank all the participants and the numerous volunteers who helped make the afternoon a positive experience for one and all.
